What is taxfreecar system in Turkey?
It was issued pursuant to the Customs Law by making use of Articles 130 and 131 of the Customs Law No. 4458, with the Law No. Residence of foreigners specified in the Customs General Communiqué SERIAL NO 1 ON LAND VEHICLES FOR PERSONAL AND COMMERCIAL USE, as defined in Article 376/J of the Customs Regulation, which entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette dated 23 January 2010 and numbered 27471 of the Undersecretariat of Customs. What is Turing collateral? There are many taxes currently applied in Turkey in the form of VAT (18%), SCT (0-220) and Customs Duty (10%). Guarantee (Security) deposit is the amount that immediately collected by the Turkish Republic Ministry of Customs in order to avoid the sale of the blue plated vehicles for personal and commercial use that are temporarily imported without paying the relevant taxes, to avoid being used for purposes other than the intended use, to be leased to another person, being lent, being used by the persons who are not rightful owners, unauthorized modification of the parts that are entered with the vehicle and recorded in their documents.

HOW MANY KINDS OF CUSTOMS GUARANTEE DEPOSIT ARE THERE?
There are three types of payment methods available for providing customs guarantee:
- CASH DEPOSIT METHODYou can deposit your existing funds in foreign currency such as EURO, USD, or Turkish Lira, which can be immediately withdrawn on the same day in foreign currency when you close the registration of the vehicle.
- SPONSOR COMPANY SUPPORT: If you are an expat working for a company or have a company that you know, you can solve the customs guarantee issue with a "bank guarantee letter" given to you within the limits of the company's bank account without cash deposit, which is a method preferred by top-level executives and directors working in foreign companies and is resolved by the corporate company's finance department.
- TURING SECURITY COMMITMENT:You can provide a bank guarantee letter obtained in return for a security at a Turkish bank for your own property, or for a property owned by a close family member such as your mother or father, up to the deposit amount calculated by the bank, and submit it to the Turing Auto Institution or the Customs Directorate where the transaction will be carried out. This is the most preferred method. You can also solve the issue without making a cash deposit by obtaining a bank guarantee letter using your own resources.

Sales price of the car sold with blue plate: 3.000.000.- TL
Sales price of the car taxed in Turkey: 18.000.000.- TL
Bank Guarantee Letter Amount (deposit) for the car: 4.000.000.- TL (or in exchange for foreign currency or mortgage letter)
Net amount remaining in your account: 15.000.000 / 11.000.000 TL
And, it should be noted that the deposit amount is refunded when the vehicle registration is closed!
It is not possible to purchase a car without giving a guarantee. Only Diplomatic missions in Turkey can benefit from the right to use tax-free cars.
Why is the touring deposit collected?
Turkey's fiscal system has various taxes in place under different names such as VAT (18%), SCT (90 – 140%) and Customs Tax (10%). Considering that the cars in question are allowed entrance to the country without paying the related taxes; deposit fees are taken as an insurance deposit fee to cover the damages against possibilities of the usage of these cars outside of their original purposes, being rented to another person, being loaned, being transferred to another person, being sold, being used by unlawful owners, exchange or sale without due permission of the car parts that entered with the car and registered on car documents.
